Sam Taitt is an apostle of the theology of empowerment through information. He strongly believes that the greatest obstacle to community empowerment are elected officials who fail to share information with their constituents, and constituents who fail to hold their elected representatives accountable.
Sam Taitt believes that he can make a unique contribution to the political process. Firstly, because he is a communicator by training, experience and profession. Secondly, because he comes to the political process with "clean hands," unbought, unbossed and uncontrolled by any political machine or special interest.
Some of the so-called political pros may dismiss Sam Taitt as a novice or an idealist. But experience has shown, that those who underestimate this man's stubborn determination and Bajan pride, will do so at their peril. Sam Taitt is not a politician given to rhetoric, theatrics or emotionalism. He is a reflective man with serious ideas about community empowerment and civic responsibility. Some feel that someday, in the near future, this quiet professor, with the self-deprecating smile will walk softly into City Hall
